When Covid-19 reached South Africa’s shores in March 2020 and the hard lockdown was instated, many industries were brought to their knees. While some sectors have since managed to recover to a certain degree others, including the local tourism-, restaurant-, and creative industries still have a very long road ahead of them.
Apart from having to deal with the initial shock of facing a global pandemic, there was virtually no financial relief offered to South Africans to cushion this surprising blow. An already worrisome unemployment rate soon skyrocketed as many businesses had to close their doors indefinitely. This left countless previously employed individuals unable to put food on the table while the already vulnerable found themselves in an even bigger state of despair.
South Africans from all walks of life were facing great hardship. The dire situation was described as akin to treading water in quicksand. Hope was in short supply and people were in desperate need of a lifeline.
It was amid the pandemic that the decision was made to breathe life into an old business idea: to create employment opportunities for the South African workforce.
The very next day a white board was dusted off, a name was brainstormed, financing options were weighed up against each other, and the business registration process commenced. In July 2020 Leverage BPO was officially born.
Leverage BPO recognized the value of the South African workforce and has identified significant cost advantages to the U.S companies utilizing its talent. Since its launch, Leverage BPO has assisted many South Africans in finding employment and has established itself as a formidable force in the field of business process outsourcing. It has provided hope to qualified and experienced individuals who were previously unemployed or seeking greater financial stability.
Fueled by the passion and a fierce desire to make a difference in a far-off country, a simple idea grew wings and soared!

Thankfully, not too much wine was enjoyed that night as the hard work started the very next day. A white board was dusted off, a name was brainstormed, financing options were weighed up against each other, and the business registration process commenced.
